A cruise ship has been filmed gliding sideways towards the port during a storm after being overpowered by the winds.<br /><br />One local in Bodø, Norway, caught the ship on camera as it struggled to cope with the winds of 55-60 knots as it attempted to enter the city’s harbour.<br />Skipper Tormod Karlsen said the ship was at a "point of no return" as he had already dropped the anchor.<br /><br />Footage captured the moment the 11,386 tonne ship glided sideways as the storm saw waves splash into the air.<br /><br />Despite being pushed on its side, the ship managed to stay upright.<br /><br />After crashing into the harbour, an onboard worker through a line over the side in a bid to tie the ship up.<br />We just had to leave it and use the engines for everything they were worth," the skipper added.<br /><br />The video was captured yesterday.<br /><br />It comes after snow and 75mph gales are set to smash into Britain in a double storm carnage.<br /><br />Britain is set to be battered by a double whammy of storms that will unleash 75mph winds, torrential rain and heavy snow.<br />Weather forecast maps show the nation will face the wrath of mother nature next week with two storms in just four days.<br />The first of the two pressure systems streaming across the Atlantic will launch itself across the UK on Monday.<br /><br />This first storm will tear through Scotland as its tail end sweeps across the length of Britain, bringing heavy rain to most parts.<br /><br />Strong winds of up to 60mph will also lash some areas in the morning and afternoon before the storm heads out to sea.
